Greetings from la belle France!

The Intrepid Rosbif

I thought it high time I introduced myself, having been a 'newcomer' for far too long. I hail from Birmingham, England, which is a lovely place, lots of rain and concrete - so you can probably see why I moved to the Alps (five years ago). Typical tale - boy had enough of dull life in UK, heads off for just one more ski season (still dreaming of misspent youth), meets girl, ends up with house, baby, and the proper job my father told me to get 20 years ago. France is everything people say it is - beautiful country, excellent food, and the locals? Mostly polite and occasionally friendly, so long as they're not disturbed during their precious two hour lunchbreak. Getting past 'Bonjour - vous allez bien?' takes time!

Best aspects - way of life, skiing, food, cheap wine
Worst aspects - shop opening times (always closed when you want to shop), seeing less of UK friends and family, finding anyone willing to work in August!

Welcome on board!

Nice story  it's often like this!

Thanks for your "témoignage"!
