Making phone calls in Iceland

Post new topic

Maximilien

Hi,

When settling in Iceland, one of the priorities is to be able to make phone calls.

How to proceed to get a landline installed in Iceland?

What are the mobile operators?

What is your average monthly budget?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience,

Maximilien

Kristinn

The prochess is easy and smooth. You just contact one of the phone companies and they will take care of the rest for you. But you can't do anything unless you have kennitala (social security number)

There are many players on the market and their price can vary a lot.(siminn.is, vodafone.is , 365.is, sip.is and hringdu.is)
Siminn and Vodafone are the biggest players and the most expensive.

Hringdu is a small company but are much cheaper than the others.
Landline is 990kr a month for unlimited calls to other landlines.
