Hi,

When settling in Jamaica, one of the priorities is to be able to make phone calls.

How to proceed to get a landline installed in Jamaica?

What are the mobile operators?

What is your average monthly budget?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience,

Maximilien

Flow is the prime provider of landlines, they also provide mobile phones, cable tv and internet so you could get a package. You get very cheap (even free) Flow to Flow calls and also free international minutes are included in their price structure. Flow includes the old Lime (Cable and Wireless) network and the service is getting better but customer service can be patchy at times.
Flow and Digicel provide mobile phones. Not much to choose between them them but some say that Digicel has better island coverage. However they are a company that is geared to taking as much money off you as is possible so expect lots of texts advertising daft competitions.
Monthly budget is difficult to say as I use my landline for free international calls and mak very few other calls.
