Visas and pensions

My wife and I are thinking about moving to Vietnam. She is Vietnamese but got US citizenship. Can we get visa for more than 3 months? Also can I get social security and Federal pension living there?

If your wife is Vietnamese extraction she can reclaim her Vietnamese citizenship, because Vietnam now recognises dual citizenship.   Then she can get a Vietnamese passport and will not need a visa. She will be able to sponsor your for a visa exemption.  She should enquire at the Vietnamese embassy or nearest consulate.

The information in the thread is fairly current except for one point, instead of the monthly trips to  the Consulate, its now every three months.
