What is University life like in Canberra?

I would LOVE to go to Australia and it looks as though a Student visa would be very helpful. I wasn't thinking of going to university but thinking more about it sounds like a fantastic opportunity. I would be really nervous to commit myself but if people think it is worth going to then I will take it into serious consideration!

It's very expensive though. The rising Australian dollar, the rising costs of living.
