Expat living in D2 HCMC seeking where other expats socialise

Jade_erica89

Myself and my friend moved to District 2 HCMC three weeks ago, we were told this is one of the main districts expats decide to live in.

We would like to socialise and share experiences with other expats in this area but we are unsure where to meet expats rather than backpackers.

Thanks.  :)

Hi Jade,

There is a bar name Saigon Outcase which is located in Dist 2. You can find the address by using google.  It has a lot of interesting events at weekend.  You can come and make friend with people.

John.

Hi all. I also just moved to HCMC two weeks ago. I'm 29 from UK and working for an architectural practice in D1. I would love to meet some expats and am here on my own so would like to make some new friends. Would anyone be interested in going to meet up at the vertical academy climbing wall in Q2 thao dien on a weekday evening for a non alcohol based social activity!? Cheers Chris

Hi any plans for a meeting in May or end of April?

GuestPoster1678

Hey Chris, my boyfriend, Marshall, and I just moved from the US a month ago and are looking for people to climb with. We're living in District 2 and could meet at the gym after work during the week. Also, this Sunday (march 20) in the early evening we're going to meet some people at Saigon Outcast and try the climbing wall. Stop by if you're free!
Cheers!

So unfortunately from these posts it seems there is no large well known inexpensive preferably open air centralized hang-out where most English speaking foreigners congregate and hang out such as to compare say Golden Sorya Mall in Phnom Penh ? or if you were living back then RAymonds fast foods in ermita manila which has been closed down for many years.

Is there such a place in Hanoi ?  One main place is better than several smaller places which are a sometimes maybe sometimes many people other times not type deal. It is just chance hit or miss if such an area or place becomes to be such over time.
