Neighbourhoods in Milan

Post new topic

pomelo

Hello expats and locals in Milan,

I am moving to Milan next month and will be looking for accommodation very soon.  Never been to the city so I've got no idea about where the residential neighbourhoods are.  Could anybody tell me something about that and if there are some places to avoid when thinking about settling down?

Many thanks,
Pomelo

Hi Pomelo, welcome to Expat-blog! :)

For the accommodation search, you may view the Milan classifieds > accommodation section and even post an advert there as well.

I wish you good luck and i hope other members will be able to advice about neighbourhoods in Milan.

Hi Pomelo,

I like very much area Baggio, west part of Milan. It is kind of a town (or village for some...) in the town with all the services close to home.
Good luck e Benvenuto a Milano

I've heard nice things about the Naviglio (southwest side of the city center) being a hip/fun area.  Also, Brera is artsy, trendy.  The further out you go from the Duomo, the cheaper it gets.  Staying within the first two rings (plus a half or so), all neighborhoods seems safe.

Anyway, I'm new here too, but that is what I've gathered from my searching.
