Hello!

I have been working in Budapest for more than 2 years and I would like to enroll in a Master's degree. Unfortunately, seems that all the degrees taught in English cost at least 2,000€/semester.
Does anyone know of any scholarship for non-hungarian tax payers?

Thank you smile.png

You may wish to ask what sort of help your workplace offers with education.
I don't expect as a non Hungarian that one would qualify for a grant within Hungary.

Yes, there is: http://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/

There are definitely opportunities for qualified individuals.

I would suggest using the following websites:
http://www.studyhungary.hu/

And more generally:
http://www.studyineurope.eu/

An excellent resource. A good link.

But..... It seems to be for only select non EU countries. The original topic poster seems to be from Spain (?), so may not qualify.

From http://www.studyhungary.hu/ FAQ page:

11.Is it possible to get scholarship or financial aid?

Unfortunately there is no scholarship, however deduction from the tuition fee after the first year is possible at some places. You can ask for the conditions at the university.

So does not really solve the original topic author's problem.....

There seems to be really no Hungarian scholarships for EU citizens.

But, maybe if the topic author is from Spain, there might be "Study abroad" scholarships sourced from Spain. The best advice I can give is to return "home" and see what financial options your home country may offer. Applying in your native language and home country may even be the easiest solution.

With all due respect, klsallee, the tuition fees are very reasonable and some amount of contribution may be available to the original poster.
Also, from the site that I provided:
"Hungary Students under the "State-funded" scheme don't have to pay tuition fees.  Tuition fees vary depending on the school and study program. Usually, non-EU students have to pay a tuition fee of approximately EUR 1000 per semester (this is you, American).
If you are an EU student or your country has reciprocal agreements with Hungary, you may also qualify as a "state-funded" student. Please, contact the institution you are interested in to learn more about your status." (This is the Spanish original poster.)

As the original post did not mention the type of desired degree, and as the 2 websites I provided list a vast number of potential programs, the conclusion that there is more information and opportunities available is still valid.

I agree, Hungarian Tuition fees are relatively reasonable compared to many other countries.

But with all due respect, the original topic author already indicated that the rates are still too high for that person's budget.

University prices in Austria, for example and the last time I checked, were under 1,000 Euro.

The original topic poster is not a "Hungarian Student" (i.e. a Hungarian national) so this is not relevant.

It is not about me (American) but about an EU national rate. Original poster is not an American. I am not writing about myself. I already have a Graduate degree.   wink.png

Which is pretty much what I said in my last post --- contact the original topic poster's home country for such options for such bilateral agreements. Or, as you now say, contact the University Admission office for such options. Third party web sites really do little except to cost money for such "help" that is free from one's national government office or from the University of interest's financial aid office.

I agree that the type of degree from the topic author would have been helpful, but that is not really relevant: the links you provided did not provide scholarships of any type that I could find, which is what the original poster was really asking about.  wink.png

I'm certain he doesn't have to go home to ask the question.
There are perfectly valid communications resources such as the internet and phone technology.
