My husband of 15 years and I are considering moving to Mexico. We currently live in the USA and this is not something that we are taking lightly. He is a a born citizen of Mexico. My questions are:

1. How do I go about getting residency in Mexico?

2. Do we have to prove income?

I receive disability for myself but from what I read so far is my income would not be enough for me to sponsor myself.
I read all he has to do is sign a paper saying he will be financially responsible for me. Can anyone help!!!! Thank you

I married my Mexican spouse in Mexico. It was easier to go through the levels of residency than if I were single and he was single. There were no requests for income.
I renewed my temporary residency and am about to become a permanent resident. We didn't need to use a lawyer, and everything went rather smoothly.
I hope this is of some help.
