I tried to find my self a job it was hopless. I got problem about going out by myself.I took the risk and went several times alone to Souk thalath and Ben Ashor. Men will not stop harresments or staring.
Sometimes i loose my temper. [b]Once I went to a computer shop to buy computer part a young guy touched my tit! It was so embarressing no one to protect me. I starred at him in a way that he ran inside the store the other guy was so shammed that he nodded his red face down, threw sharp words loudly at them was good.
Your not a clever person, you know what you should have done if he did what you say he did? Go to the F****ing police station for gods sake get that kid punished.
First of I do not think you are kind of person who is qualified to measure peoples' cleaverness or stupidness. Your reply is Impolite...So i do not have to justify anything on here...
I'm sorry if I've hurt you from my post, but all I wanted to say was you should go to the nearby police station. These days you can find them everywhere if something of that nature occurs again you should not hesitate to report it.

Excuse my english...
Not all the women ( As We call) are women. They can be femaleS, but not women who suppose to be respected by men. Unfortuantlly The majority Are Females. Most of them does not have the logic to debate over something or behave with consideration of politness (good manners).
I would like to point at the issue of police. I have been here for 2 years and im tottally convinced that police or the law in general does not have needed power over the community for protection.
Secondly that young guy is underaged ( less than 18 ) how on earth In libya can grabe his family to the police or what court on here can accept this when the LAW does not have a grib on them!
In some occasion police themselves can poke a woman. All I can see from this mess of behaving from one to nother prevents me from going station!
Note
I was going to report you, but i got your message.
Your Apologie has been accepted.

My advice would be don't go out with just any taxi driver. Even if he gave you his card. You need to get someone you know to recommend someone they know. That is how it works here. They have to know them so "if" anything happens you can find them. Its not easy at all for the females here. Its like a big prison . DON'T got out walking alone - for the local Libyan men any woman out alone is asking for trouble thus they have all the right to grab, touch, say or do whatever they think or feel like. Its so sad really because this is not how Libyans used to be. [keep that comment for you]
My advice would be dont go out unless your with your husband or a group of people. Keep to coffee shots or Girgarish or Ben Ashour. Souk Altalat is a dump dont bother. Just get some good books, DVDs, playstation, get an Internet connection (Wimax) and get busy at home.
Why dont you try the Turkish Embassy or Commercial Sector they will know the Turkish companies working here and might be able to help you with a job. Dont work with any Libyan company they are full of shit heads.
I will ask for you for a driver just make sure you get copies of his licence etc. Try to meet expats with cars so they can pick you up and drop you off.
Other than that brace yourself cos Libya is tough so face the music and dance. Just dance at home
if you still don't have internet please let me know and I will ask for you. Its terrible that you don't have net. For anyone here its like air. You can't even breath without it.
Hey
gelincek, I do no what to call you, coz no name displayed,
anyway, this Bedwin country and that's why they used to stare
here, even the women, you can deprive them anything but staring,
they'll die if they don't, I'm a man and they stare at me, at my
hand to see what I've got in the sack and the list goes on and
on.........., big, the bedwin enviroment aren't similar with non
Bewdin inviroments like other countries. even me I've been in
couple of accidents, you have to pay some attention, typical
African country I guess and for the police, forget it, vast
country, few police stations and on top of that most of streets
are clear from police precence.....

Why would Libyan females stare at men since they look like shy?!

I just said the truth, the truth hurts sometimes.
This blog for expats, oh yeah, I am an ex-expat and soon will be an expat, so I belong here too.
I believe you and your team members should stop people going on spreading rumors and giving false info about one country.
The guy was tagging Libyan people as Bedouin u did not do anything towards that.

If u say it is freedom of speech, then why u did not take it that way when I talked
[please report problems using the "report link" instead of responding directly]
@Medina78
Then, You strike back: Stare at them too !!
* I 'm doing that way
...this is too good
a) staring is the national sport here, as much as i hate to say it, the guys have nothing better to do than "staring" and try to find out what the others are up to. And it's very annoying but they don't do it on purpose...even if it makes the person stared at rather uncomfortable...its along topic...
b) i completely agree with Samakauk.
c) the issue that the blog is "reserved" to foreigners in a foreign land...well, it is not completely true cause one of the blog's purposes is also for people who "want" to go to a foreign country, gather info, contacts etc.
and in all the forums from around the world, there are always locals who "try" to be friends/helpful but get constantly rejected/provoked ( insulting their country with general remarks that apply to many parts of the world ) thus the locals' pride kicks in, and start making obnoxious remarks, unfortunately.
when i see some remarks about any country, its very clear that the person behind it either does it intentionally to provoke or it's their first time abroad.
d) gelineck...i won't bother cause if i were to say what i think it'd be nonconstructive and certainly hurt your already fragile self.
Thanks anyway ...
As up to staring, I have noticed many ladies are doing the same... well, I do not feel uncomfortable ...

Yea me too zlatan. but i get shy! am not used to stare but to be stared at.
Well, since you're lady, of course it is uncomfortable for you to be stared... I just like to make jokes with it ... if the viewer is so persistant, I make my special face (something between laughing camel and confused horse) and stare at him for a glimpse. Usually he gives up immediately.
If the viewer is a lady ..... ehm .....

This blog for expats, oh yeah, I am an ex-expat and soon will be an expat, so I belong here too.
Expat is a person temporarily or permanently residing in a country and culture other than that of the person's upbringing or legal residence. This page for
>Expats IN Libya< Not Libyan expat
I believe you and your team members should stop people going on spreading rumors and giving false info about one country.
why would we do such a thing when it is the reality and what we tell is what we experienced
The guy was tagging Libyan people as Bedouin
@ Medina78 It is your opnion about badouin. @ Samakauk In my opinion Bedouins are healthy connceted to earth and wise people who cherish life. I will call the bad people ignorants and dogmatic

Hey Marselya,
Why don't u join Arabic school and learn how to speak Arabic. I think its better to kill da time and like dis you could make some new Libyans friends. And the benefit to learn Arabic is you can easily understand the people of Dubai, Libya, Egypt and other arab countries.
