Essentials to live in Norway

Post new topic

Christine

Hi,

As an expat living in Norway, what would you advise the ones about to pack to bring along?

What are the items you can easily find in Norway? On the other hand, what is less common or quite expensive?

Share with us what you would recommend to bring in one’s suitcase or container when moving to Norway.

Thank you in advance,

Christine

It depends on where you are from and what you cannot live without.

Over the counter medication is very strictly regulated in Norway so certain medication might not be allowed in pharmacy for purchase unless you have prescription from doctor.  Example Liquid cough medicine with REAL medicine in it or Flu pills, or baby medication such as Gripe water.

As for food, i have no idea where you come from but for me who is in asia, I will bring along my native food ingredients that are not available here such as rice wine for cooking.  rice wine for cooking is considered alcohol thus not allowed for sale in grocery stores.
