Hello,

We are moving to Mauritius shortly and looking for land. Albion is offering very attractive prices but we don't know the area.

Anyone who knows Albion? Any experience living there? We have a small son, so we are wondering if there are any good schools in Albion area.

Many thanks,

Anne

Hi not sure if your post is current. I have a house in Albion near the small shop.

My wife is Mauritian and I am from the UK. Now we live in Sydney. Albion has changed a lot and not for the better really. There are a lot of stray dogs and rubbish on the beach. If you want to swim walk up to the hotel 'club med' end it have nets and its ok.

Land is cheap but it has stayed like that for years. I have spent many months on end in Mauritius and we are looking to move home soon. Tamerin is much better. We also have a place in Flic en flac and only stay in Albion for family parties etc. It is very quiet best school you will need to drive to quatre bourne.

So if you want sleep oky but its not really the best beach sharpish sand. Just be mindful there is a poor resale value in Albion. We tried to sell 2 years ago and got nothing.

Good luck have fun in the best island in the world. Despite what I say I still don't mind Albion reminds me of the old days there

Thanks

Tom

Thanks Tom very helpful! Usually there is a reason when property is cheap...

We will check Albion when we are there but Tamarin really sounds like the better option.

Best regards,

Anne

Property is not that cheap. It's cheaper than Flc en Flac or Tamarin yes it's true, but still, not that cheap.
The reason I think prices didn't go up is because they were supposed to build the coil plant there, so people were thinking of leaving. But the project has been cancelled last year.

Thanks for your input! Much appreciated.
As I said, we will check out Albion when we are there.

Someone else said to me that Albion is actually a rising area. Would you agree with that?

Well they are building like crazies in Albion, so I guess that yes.
