Hi,

When living in a foreign country, you have to adapt to a new environment, various cultures and different social codes.

How did you manage to adjust to Greece?

How long does it take to feel at home? Would you say it is an easy process?

According to you, what is key for a successful integration process in Greece?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience!

Language!!!
Language is the key for quick and successful integration where ever one goes, however it is more important in Greece because most of the local citizens are not used to speaking international languages.
In learning Greek language, one can learn the tradition and all the key social codes at the same time. The most important tool to understand the cultures and taboos of a society is learning its’ language.
Whether one speaks Greek language or not, the Greeks are warm, sociable, polite, respectful, hospitable and friendly as a nation, and one can feel at home within a short period of time, it took me a couple of months.

I agree Mazda. Language is the first point of contact.  It enriches the learner and people warm to your effort to speak their language in every country.  Greeks are great people, as you say, welcoming and their country is spectacularly beautiful, rich in history and their family focus is one of their great assets.  It matters in life and has been lost to a certain extent in so many countries.
Long may it last.
