Post new topic

Hi Guys,

would like to know if at all some of the employess facing the effect of the economy crisis like salary delays for months together, cost cut off like home allowences  and also the measures we have to take up like whether this is the condition all over and we will have to wait for it to overcome through time or we will have to speak up for the same to the management and higher authorities. At present change of job is also difficult. Please share the experience which would help us .

Thanks in advance

I lost my job last month and have moved out of Oman. The future is very bleak for engineering jobs and I think it will only get worse. As the expat population declines, all sectors including schools hospitals will be affected.

Things will only get better if only oil price stabilizes at or around US$ 70 per barrel which seems very unlikely for the next 2-3 years.I understand from discussions with  other industry peers that the worst affected countries are Saudi Arabia and Oman

Dear Deemonisha,

The situation across the GCC is similar, it is in my opinion that I wish to say. If you are not comfortable with the company's situation to scout for a better company, firstly secure a new job stating that you would be able to produce an NOC. Then while you do this without mentioning this to your bosses/HR manager whosoever is concerned speak to them and tell them saying that your situation is not conducive to carry-on without getting your salaries on time. Hence that you wish to search for a different company and to provide you NOC. But be sure to be asking for this very nicely and if you have a good rapport with  them they wouldn't mind in giving you an NOC.  You can then join a better company which does not have a cash flow issues, I am sure there are still quite a few companies that are better off even in the current turmoil.
This is my opinion because this is what I have done and I have returned to a new job just a week ago. I had left in the first week of Feb.
However again in my gut feel the crisis about the Oil prices should cool off post August'16 it should be somewhere over $50. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

All the best to you.

Thank you Mr.CKAN. i was all quite due to the visa issue ladies are going through here. i am even now offered a job in one of the good company in oman but dont know how long i should wait for the visa as they are not having any idea on the same. Secondly in our company for any reason they wont give noc ,still i have a good rapo with boss and the management i will have to try my luck.In other case if i have to return back to join my hubby would be one option to me.

i would consider your suggession discussing on the same with the management if they dont come up with a solution as i am waiting a long for the same else only option would be move out of oman.

All the best to you in your pursuing for the NOC and a new job. I am sure you shall succeed by using tact.
