Internet in Bali

Hi,
I've read so many different reviews about this subject that I thought I would ask the question here, to expats already living in Bali.

My family will move from Phuket to Bali in July. We need a fast and reliable internet connection at home as we work online (daily Skype lessons, daily podcast uploads...).

Is it something we can get (with Biznet?) or should I forget this idea :) ?

Internet quality and reliability will depend where in Bali you settle.  These days Telkom pretty much enjoys a monopoly here.

We live in fairly remote village outside of Ubud and have been with Telkom Speedy with generally very satisfactory results.  Our house is “wired” with Wi-Fi as my wife and kids all have mobile devices and that works fine too.  I Skype fairly regularly from my office with excellent connections.

If you can be more specific about where in Bali you plan to live, you’ll likely hear more from other expats.

Thanks Ubudian.

Yes you are right I should have been more specific. Our kids will go the French school in Kerobokan. We plan to live in this area (Kerobokan, Umalas, Canggu).

We've got a number of friends who live "down there" and from what they say, their internet is faster and more reliable than ours.

You should have no problems.

Welcome to Bali!

Hi there

I am renting a house in Berawa and was trying to download from a site last night (for game of thrones) I kept trying and it seems the house internet has been disconnected. Does anybody know antything about this and what I can do? I am only here for a week but feel bad for my fellow guests and for the home owner if I can't fix it.

Any help sincerely appreciated

Thanks
