Hello everybody,

When settling abroad with your spouse and children, the expatriation process requires an extensive preparation.

What are the considerations to take into account when moving to Malaysia with your family? What challenges have you faced? How did your children adapt to their new environment?

What is your recipe for a successful family expatriation in Malaysia?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience,

Bhavna

We have settled successfully here and perceived no challenges. But one must be very mindful of the culture .Respect is everything, thus I advise visitors no glib comments at the expense of others..
We are the foreigner  and guest. Western flipaancy is not understood  or appreciated.
Be informed on Malay and Chinese culture.

in my experience, moving to malaysia is like moving with in your own home country where you consider and explore the factors like home location, schooling, week end options for family time and is there any trade off compared to your existing comfort zone. Generally, Malysia is pretty welcoming country and Malaysians are good people. You have to take reasonable precaution on safety. Food and other facilities - quite a few options are available but depends on the expectation levels you set. This is pretty well integrated multi-racial society - basic principle is respect the country, people and culture; and enjoy your stay
