Hi everyone,

I know that similar posts have been opened in the past, but I feel that the information required is very subjective to one's career experiences/goals.

Myself, my wife and two kids are seriously looking at relocating to Mauritius (hopefully this year) and I would like to understand what the career prospects are in my line of work and the best places to go and enquire.

I am extremely fluent and efficient in both spoken and written English/Italian. I am 35 yrs old and I have held roles as Sales Representative/Manager, Business Development Manager and Account Manager for global technology organisations such as Cisco and Sage. I currently work for a Cisco and Polycom business partner focussing on maintenance and services linked to large video-conferencing systems (i.e. Cisco Telepresence).

My questions are:

1. What are the realistic prospects of finding a secure job in Mauritius, considering my background?
2. Are recruitment agencies my best chance at finding employment?
3. Can anyone give me ideas or direct me to employers I could send my CV to?

I really appreciate your help and direction on this.

Regards

Vito

There are specific options about relocating to Mauritius. You can find more information on this site or the Board of Investment website.

1) Create a job search on LinkedIn (set the country to Mauritius) and set it up so that you get notified every week.

2) Speak to recruitment agencies. I know two that I will recommend: Valdus and Castille Resources.

3) National Computer Board publishes a directory of ICT companies in Mauritius which includes the annual turnover if I'm not mistaken. Go through the directory and contact the top ones (based on annual turnover).

Thank you very much for your precious advice, Gawesh.

Hugely appreciated
