Eventually i will arrive in Riyadh on Monday it has been a long process lol as many of you warned me. I have searched the forum for what restrictions are on the Internet there alas I cannot find anything can someone advise please? Thanks and looking forward to seeing the Kingdom.

Welcom to Saudi Arabia Bishy,
if you need a rid, just let me know. I am living nearly the air-port.

Thanks for the offer but I am getting collected by a rep from my company.

Do not bring:

Porn
Alcohol
Drugs (Prescription are ok but have a letter from your doctor)
Any religious item other than Islamic that you do not want to see thrown away. You are allowed 1 Bible.
Christmas decorations

You asked about restrictions on the internet? Porn sites are blocked and any site deemed inappropriate by the Government. Google safe search is locked to ON.

Thanks, I was wondering if Facebook and Skype are available.

Ans

Don't worry, they are available.
Best Wishes,

Cheers thanks a lot.

Get a vpn and that will sort things out.

Facebook and skype are available for now... :P
You never know what they will block in the next week.

Sometimes the authorities in the airport will go through your bags kinda thoroughly, sometimes not. So dont try and risk stuffing something that u are not supposed to anywhere.
If u are coming to riyadh, it can get chilly at the moment.

Cheers,
Have a good time! :D:D:D

I've read on a list provided by our movers that stuffed animals are not allowed, and the movers' agent recommended we carry those in our luggage as airport customs may be somewhat more lenient.  Anyone with kids had previous experience with stuffed animals or Barbies being thrown out?

I had 2 trunks filled with stuffed animals for my daughter when we moved here 3 months ago, so better check wtih your movers about this - I had no problems whatsoever.

Thanks BB!  I will do that, since I know for sure my kids will demand all their stuffed animals taken...and that's way more than what our luggage allowance will be :)
