I just want to know how it would be to retire in Lisbon. Everything I would need to know from Healthcare to weather and everything in between. I really need an education.

Thank you,

Art

Hi,

I am going to counter your question with a question "Out of interest why have you chosen Lisbon?"

:)

Hi,

I wrote a lengthy reply on Healthcare on your first post...with contact details, price examples etc etc but it has disappeared :(

I got the other post on healthcare with the 2 websites, Thank you, I will check them out. We chose the Lisbon area because it looks like it may be less expensive than other areas of Europe, we want to be near or in a city, and the climate.

Thank you again I will check the 2 websites.

Hi Art,

I am not a city dweller myself so we live in the wild west of Portugal by the sea near a town called Lagos. OK, I will kick off with

climate
It is meant to be warmer with less rain on the Algarve, but as I look out of my window I would question this theory.

However, if you look at this website it gives you an overview of the whole country
http://tempo.sapo.pt/so you judge for yourself. You can also zoom in to select different areas for more localized weather information. WE have found the site to be really useful and pretty accurate. Also includes info such as Siesmic activity and fire risks

Another pretty accurate weather site is

http://www.foreca.com/Europe/Portugal/browse

Location
A couple of areas just outside Lisbon that may also worth researching are Cascais, Estoril and Sintra.
