Hey guys it's been a while ;) Hope you're all well and looking forward to your breaks (if you're lucky enough to get one)!

I'm into my 10th week in the country now and I'm STILL waiting for my iqama! I heard that there is often delays in issuing foreigners with them since it's harder to 'get rid' of us if a problem arises once we're in possession of them (I don't know if this is true or not).

I just wondered what experiences you guys had had..... :)

Hi mailman, and welcome back.

yes sometimes its true and sometimes the delay is just becuase there is delay with no real reason. you'll just have to wait. but not longer than 3 months, after three months you should start asking questions and getting clarifications and keep following up.

as for experiences that subject has been discussed countless times in the forum, try a little search. ;)

It took my husband 4 months to get his iqama. I hope yours comes soon.

Took me three weeks .. and it was during Ramadan, too! None of the 'old timers' could believe it.

Took me 2 months to lose mine.
