Could you help me with some research on expat living please?

Alison Mungall

Hi I'm an ex-expatriate and I'm now completing an MA dissertation in Managing Global Issues at Winchester University in the UK. I've lived in Budapest, Copenhagen and Singapore, both as a non working spouse and as a chartered surveyor.

I'm really interested in the expatriate way of life and I'm doing some research on this for my dissertation. I would be very, very grateful if you could answer any of the questions below. All answers will be kept strictly confidential.

The questions I am interested in are:
1 The global manager versus the expatriate manager: Are you an expatriate in one location, or do you travel extensively thoughout a region?
2 Where is your family located? How well does this work for the family?
3 How well does this work for your assignment? Is the expatriate community supportive?
4 Are you a third country nationals rather than a parent country national or a host country national?
5 Where will you live when your international assignment is finished?
6 Do you consider your that your international experience will help you reintegrate into the company when you return home?
7 Does technology such as video conferencing affect the amount you travel?
8 Or any other views, opinions would be very gratefully received!

With thanks Alison

Christine

Not sure where is the correct place for this sort of things.

My email is gabbygn@yahoo.co.uk

Hi Gabriela,

You already have a topic in the Expatriate forum : https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=55438

no need to post the same message in all the forums.

Thank you for your comprehension,
Christine
