Final Preparations for the Move

I am in final preparation for my coming move to the Cayo District in Belize. My intention is to drive down with my few belongings, a few of my building tools, etc. I wanted to bring my three wheel motorcycle with me, but after talking to a broker there, I decided I could not afford the duties for it and the trailer I would need to bring it down.

At this stage of my preparations, I naturally am coming up with a lot of little DETAIL QUESTIONS.

I am a natural bug magnet, if they are within 5 miles they will fly past everyone else to snack on me. In my previous visits to the jungles and rainforests I have had good success with 3M’s Ultrathon 34for my exposed skin and Sawyer Permethrin spray for my clothing. I do not recall if these products are readily available there or not. They are here in the states, but I do not want to bring a case of each with me.

I have also had very good luck with Avon’s Skin So Soft or its unscented version Avon markets as a bug repellant. Can anyone tell me if Avon has distributers there and are these products available?

Then of course there is the question of availability for toiletries, razors, paper products, printer ink and paper, part to create a built in propane BB-Q, router bits, various hand tools, and on and on. I simply did not pay that much attention last time I was there. (it was still called British Honduras back then)  Any insights, information from those of you already on the ground in Belize would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to making your acquaintances after I get there.
