How to go about buying Real estate in cali?

Post new topic

Hello,

I'm looking to buy a property in Cali or yumbo. Any advice on how to go about it?. I'm from New York traveling solo. A bit nervous since I haven't been to Colombia in over 8 years.

The first advice has to be a reminder laws in most countries differ from your home country, and enforcement of local laws could be 'flexible'.

So I have to get familiar with the local law of that city. Got it.

Slow down.

Rent in the target area for a year before you buy or build on property there.  You might also want to visit areas of Colombia that have more favorable weather.

Cali gets average-high temperatures near 90 degrees F. in the summertime.  Experience that before investing.

As someone who has not been in Colombia in eight years, you’ll know a lot more about property purchase in Cali after a year in-country than you do now.

There’s nothing in your profile or posts that indicates why you would be in a rush to buy property in Cali.

You posted this weekend that you’ll be in Cali for ten days next December.  That’s not close to enough time to buy property with the due diligence Fred was alluding to.  And it won’t give you the full experience of Cali’s summertime heat.
