Common misconceptions and clichés about life in Chile

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

Old clichés die hard, as the saying goes... and living in Chile can generate lots of misconceptions in the eyes of the people.

What are the most common misconceptions about the expat lifestyle in Chile?

What are the most common clichés about life in Chile in general?

Did you have a biased view of the country before moving there? What is you view now?

Thanks in advance,

Priscilla

It surprises me how poor most peoples geography knowledge is. Many think Chile has Amazon rain forest and it is nowhere near the Amazon!
And others think Chile is a poor banana republic when it has the most stable government and growing economy in South America.
