Are you happy in Paraguay?

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone!

According to the 2016 UN World Happiness Survey, Denmark, Switzerland and Iceland are the happiest countries on earth.

How about you? Are you happy in Paraguay? Do you feel happier today in your host country than before in your home country? What has contributed to the change?

In your opinion, are locals in Paraguay happy? How can you tell?

Please share your experience!

It's hard to be happy in a country with bad weather but it's possible to be content. I'm glad to be out of the States now because it's become a pressure cooker of problems. The hardest thing for me here is the loneliness since being from a different culture is like being from a different planet. Common interests/likes is the basis for a good relationship.

Would please expound on your take on the weather ib PY?

It's as hot as the Arizona desert but without the relief of being dry. Summers are almost 6 moths long.

My wife is from Paraguay (near Asuncion). We have spent time there and intend to live there, probably within 6 months. Your point about loneliness and different culturs, interests etc is something which we intend to address. I am British/Spanish and my wife has lived a while in Spain. When we are in Paraguay we are bored. We intend to try and start interest groups, and/or business where expats of all nations can meet and share activities. Keep in touch.
