Las Terrenas is the gateway to the Samaná Peninsula, in the Northeast part of the country.

Its in Samana on the northeast side of DR.

Unfortunately, I can't really tell you much about Las Terrenas as I haven't been there, but I just returned from the Samana Peninsula, where I stayed in the city of Samana for 10 days. I'll be happy to answer what questions I can.
