Could someone pleasetell me what to expect crossing the Qatar-Saudi border. I am a ex pat female travelling with my husband and a company driver. Is it a case of stripping the car to search? I just want to know how long we are going to spend at the border. Also what is the driving time exactly from Doha to Al Khobar? I am at present living in Al Khobar. Thanks guys

The border crossing is the same as Bahrain & Dubai.

Nothing to be stressed about - car insurance, exit re-entry and then Qatar Visa.

The Saudi's do do a quick examintion of the car on your way back. Literally 2 mins.

Just dont bring back any liquer.

Thanks so much. Not bringing anything back I shouldn' just wanted to know what to expect and how long the trip was. Thanks

Getting out of saudi is easier at all the land borders, than getting in. They are all the same (Jordan, Bahrain, UAE).

Doha is actually very close by. around 450 km away from khobar. u ll have to go via al Hasa i think.

and no, the car will not be striped searched when u are going there. but on the way back, you can expect a bit of that!

RedGoblin

alright sorry i think i got the distances messed up 350 is about right.. been down that road just once and slept the entire time.. so wouldnt be aware of it! :P
