Greetings Everyone!

The name is "Ranger Rick" Tscherne, I am retired military (US Army 1972-93) and I live here on Lake Garda in a town famous for it's wine - Bardolino!

I'm NOT new to Italy, been living here for more than half my life due to the Army kept sending me back here, spent 13 of my 20+ years living abroad mostly here in Italy. And then when I finally started to love it here and I didn't want to return back to the US of A...they said I had to go (back to Ft.Bragg) and so I put in my retirement papers and got out.

I speak terrible Italian, absolutely terrible. Just can't seem to pick it up due to not having a very good memory in learning any languages at all. And I own no less than a dozen Italian books too. But it never stopped me from meeting and making friends. In fact, ALL of my Italian friends tell me I speak better Italian after drinking more than 3 glasses of wine (LOL!)

Anyway, I didn't log on here to talk about myself. But if you want to learn more about me and see over 100 photos that pretty much describes and tells the story about my life here in Italy and while I was in the US Army too. Just look me up on Facebook and then click on my photo album there.

I'd be interested to know how many other (non-military) Americans are living near me here in, on or around Lake Garda. Hope you'll come check me out on Facebook and then come look me up. Thanks for your time, take care everyone!

Welcome on Expat.com Ranger Rick ;)

ArmyRangerRick

Thank you! :) I hope to meet other (non-military related) Americans here. Because if I wanted to meet US military (active duty & retired)personnel, all I would have to do was go down to the US military base in Vicenza. :P Nothing against the US military and my fellow Americans, it's just that we have too many things in common and just want to know  a few other (expat) Americans. Gotta go, got a small business to run, take care for now.

High Ranger Rick,
My Name is Carl. I,m a retired SGM. I retire from the in 1992 and I was a paratrooper in Italy and the 1SGT for the medical company. I'm married to an Italian wife. We miss Italy and the military base very much. We want to move to the Lake Garda area and yet be close to the military base. It's going to be somewhat difficult to make it all happen but I hope to see you in Lake Garda by April of next year. Airborne
