Property prices in Recife

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

Finding affordable housing in Recife is number one priority for newcomers. Tell us more about the estate market in your district/city/region.

What are the most desired places to live? What are the most affordable ones? What is the average cost of a rented flat? And what is the average sale price for an appartment or a house? Could you tell us more about local real estate policies/procedures? What about property tax or residency tax in Recife?

What about you? Where do you live now? Is it a place you would recommend?

Thank you in advance for your clarifications.

Priscilla

RECIFE is one of the most expensive places to rent and to buy, 20% higher.
You can find a decent 1br rental for R$1200-1500. Higher end you'll pay R$1500-2500.
Some smaller kitchenettes around R$800-1100 but you need to travel more to get to town.
Have lived here part time off and on.  Real estate prices today have actually dropped some.  Obviously Boa Viagem is the most safe and desireable location. Suburbs are ok too ; Setubal, Pina.  Others seem a little rough for me.
There are so many other better cities to live in, in the north ;  Joao Pessoa, Maceio, I hear Pipa is good. You will pay less to rent and to buy, cleaner, safer.
