Hello everyone,

Are you about to celebrate the holiday season in Norway? In many countries and cultures, the festive season is the time for happiness and reunions/gatherings. Is it so in Norway? How do Norwegians celebrate this very special time of the year?

What about you? Will you spend the holiday season in your host country or in your home country? Will there be expat reunions/celebrations/parties in your region/town/area?

Thank you in advance for sharing!

Christmas is a big deal in Norway.  They usually spend Christmas eve and the holidays with family or families.

My family back home does not celebrate Christmas because it is viewed as a religious holiday and we are not Christians.  In Norway, Christmas is not necessarily a religious holiday.  my family here in norway is not christian too but we celebrate it.

we have big family dinner on Christmas eve.  We put presents under the Christmas tree and the kids will open the presents after christmas dinner.
