part-time living in Sicily?

Hi there!

I'm from Ljubljana (Slovenia) and I'm thinking of spending half of the year (november - april) somewhere close to the sea - and where the sun is shining

I'm after intimate places with character, good sunny weather, old and beautiful town architecture, welcome locals, amazing food, art & culture. I have visited Sicily only once (Cefalu area) and I loved it - I think this island could be close to my ideal? any suggestions?

I would really appreciate your help.

Hola Pia,
slucajno pokukala na forum in lepo videt eno Slovenko ;-)
Jaz sem iz Portoroza, trenutno v Panami. Pozimi grem na Florido potem pa bi rada (do srede 2012) na Sicilijo. Sem prevajalka in uzivam moja popotovanja.....sonce, morje in toplota so obvezni zame. Tu sem upala, da bom srecna vendar pogresam dobro hrano in tradicije. Imam prijatelja, slikarja v Messini in na duso sem mu polozila kako zapusceno naselje, ki bi ga lahko oziveli in razvili v turisticno zanimivost.
