Hi, I am an Indian from Mumbai, relocated in North Jakarta few days back. I am trying to find new people and get in touch with as many people i can. But it seems language is a barrier here. Can someone help me. I am trying to get in touch with some community with whom i can spend my spare time and hangout. I love making friends. I stay alone in my apartment in North Jakarta.

Have you tried the embassy for information for social meetings and gatherings?

It would be worth a go

Hi Lukereg,

No, I havent tried that though. I do not have any knowledge about embassy's having such social meetings and stuff.
Although i will definitely find out now.
Thanks a lot :)

Fred

Your embassy might well set up social or cultural events, so Luke's advise could well be a good start.
Other possibilities are Indian restaurants and religious places (If you're religious). I found a very interesting Sikh temple a week or so ago full of friendly people.
