Does anyone know of other craft stores than super paco and Juan marcet? I'm a scrapbooker and would like to find things like adhesive runners, cardstock, supplies for my Cricut machine etc   Super Paco now carries the Silhouette Cameo...might have to switch.

Hi,

I have seen some scrapbooking sets in "Juguetón" close to where they keep the coloring books and crayons. Those are children's sets, but some are really cute.

You have to read carefully what they say in how many things they bring. The best ones for me are the ones with the most cardboard sheets and stickers. There are some that only bring like 5 cardboard sheets and 15 buttons.

Good luck!

Hi, Tiny.  Welcome to the Ecuador forum

I see from your post on the New Members thread and your forum-intro page that you have moved to Quito and seek "smaller rustic shops" for crafts.

Have you been to Centro Histórico lately?

Hop on a bus, get off along Avenida Guayaquil .. and start asking around.

Here's a tip in case your Spanish is not yet fluent:  bring samples of the types of things you are looking for.

You may be surprised and delighted at what your field trip turns up.

One more thought.

I read that your kids are in high school, so they may not be so "tiny" any more.

Regardless of whether they are into crafts or will be future entrepreneurs, this field trip could be a great learning experience .. and a great way to support Mom. :)

Enjoy.

There is a local papel store here in manta in the same plaza as super maxi.  We always buy our computer paper and ink cartridges there.  They have all kinds of arts and craft supplies there, you just have to look and dig around.  I've noticed, but haven't been recently, that a lot of their stuff came from the US and wasn't crazy priced.  For more technical stuff like cutting objects (not scissors), glued and stuff I would think one would use for scrap booking, I've seen at the office supply store in the mall.  Here in manta, we can also use our commisarioto card there.  If you use the points on it, which I never have make sure to use it wherever you can.  I always use it at the Carl's Jr. in the food court to.  Funny I had to move all the way to ecuador to eat at a Carl's Jr.
