Hi everyone,

Do you follow fashion trends in Panama? Every country and every culture has its own dress code. As far as you are concerned, have you changed the way you dress?

Can one easily find fashion boutiques in Panama? Are clothes expensive there? Or cheap?

What do Panamanians usually wear or like to wear the most?

No shorts and flip flops in banks, hospitals, government buildings, etc. Panamanians usually dress nicely (business casual) when out and about, though we are seeing more shorts especially on weekends.

You will probably want something light weight, light colored, breathable and fast drying in this tropical climate. Panamanians are generally smaller and shorter, so you may have trouble finding clothes here if you are tall or big. I wear size 12 shoes so forget that except in the men's department.

You can find cheap clothes here, but sometimes they may not be as comfortable or durable. If you like to sew there are tons of inexpensive fabrics, but no patterns.

Panamanians seem to enjoy looking good, attractive colorful tops, snug pants, nice shoes, makeup, hair ornaments, etc. Men also look clean, well put together, clothes ironed, etc. Working people (gardeners, construction, etc) will arrive looking good, change into work clothes, and then wash up and put on their good clothes for the trip home.

Myself, I wear shorts and t-shirts at home, and I have a pair of pants and a few nicer shirts for going to town, and a sweater for chilly evenings in the mountains. You don't need a whole lot to be comfortable and look decent here.

And how are nail trends as I am a nailtech and when we relocate really want to keep on doing nails...nail art in South africa is really big...

I see a lot of beautiful nails here. I don't know what people pay or how hard it would be to support yourself doing nails, but there is definitely an appreciation for beautiful nails, pretty colors, decorative patterns, etc.
