Hello Mu Living,

Came across this blog and I had been surfing the net for any info on Tanzania and more specifically "Export trading group" that have offered me a position (supposedly senior") for USD3000 free of taxes but will deduct PF (have not specified how much). Housing , elec and water is paid not schooling (I have two school going kids). Car to and from office no clarity if it can be used by the family.
I would like to know more about this company , their reputation as employers etc. What kind of housing is generally provided? Villas or apartments? They hv specified in the contract that owing to "seniority" of the job I would be expected to work beyond normal working hrs.
All of this is causing some nervousness to me as my kids go to excellent schools here and am with a very good company here.
Kindly give me any info on the reputation and more specifically on how they treat employees.

Christine

Although reply to this thread is bit late but might help someone in near future.

Export Trading is an agro based Gujarati, local Indian owned company. Company is OK. Low and middle low level employees stays in cities other than DAR. There main function is to procure grains / pulses for exports and to sell imported fertilizers from their depot's. Your offer of senior post of USD 3000/- is  good and your local expenses would be 500 to 700 usd per month. They normally gives 2 or 3 bedroom apts in city. Employer is OK and working environment is also OK.
