Hi,  I'm a female from the US that is in the process of receiving a final contract with a recruiter to teach English in Saudi at a school in Riyadh.  I'm a revert Muslim and Muslim women are not supposed to travel a far distance without a male relative. I told the recruiter that I need for my son to come with me, but he said that my son can't come for two months.
Who do I need to contact to find out how my son can come at the time that I leave? My son is also interested in studying overseas so tell me all of our possible options.

Thank you.

If your employer and the employment contract allows you to bring family - son in this case as dependent then you need to arrive first and then get residence permit for you (if you are coming on work visa). Once the permit is issued you can apply for the dependent visa and get him here.

If your employer is issuing visit visa for you then you can ask them to apply for you as well as son at the same time so both of you can come together.

As for Muslim women not being able to travel far without male relative, its not applied strongly, a lot of muslim women do come here and work while being single - with company provided accommodation and transportation.

As for your sons education, he can do that here only if he is on residence permit as a dependent , if on visit most schools will not be enrolling him as a student.

Hi dear,
I had a friend with a similar issue a couple of years ago. she had to come to Saudi Arabia, finalize her iqama and residency, then apply for a visiting visa for her daughter. However, I am not sure how old is your son. I think he should be younger than 18 to receive a visiting visa permit.

he is over 18 years old

If he is over 18, then getting visit and residence permit will be difficult.
