I would like to spend a day in Santiago de los Caballeros in two weeks. Do you have any suggestion? I'll be in Sosua and I'll travel by bus with Caribe tours. I speak Spanish and I'm really interested in the dominican culture.

Welcome to the forum chavafred. Are you inquiring about lodging or things to do in Santiago?

The cheapest lodging while retaining it's quality in Santiago are Airbnbs.

The most visited sites are the Monument and the Leon Jimenez art museum. There are also a number of shopping centers and movie theaters.

Yup tell us what you want to do. The.monument is the biggest attraction, lots of restaurants nearby as well.

Do you have any  advice about security? I'd like to visit the monument, the church, and have a walk in a park, be in contact with people to know about the culture. I'm adventurous!

During the day there should not be much of an issue with security as long as preventive measures are taken. For example, not using the cel phone in the street.

My recommendation would be to take a taxi or UBER between destinations to limit your exposure to walking in unfamiliar neighborhoods.
