Family of 6

ohmyfam

I have a family of 6 and we are about ready to finally pull the trigger on our dream to move to Cambodia.

I intend to mainly retire and assist others  in humanitarian efforts.

I live off a long term investment that brings in about USD $1500 per month.

Can a family live on $1500 per month.  I have not figured out the school prices yet.  Does anyone know those?  My wife is a capable teacher, and this may be of assistance although she was planning on not working.  We know that most likely she will need to teach to cover the school bill.

I feel that my kids (ages 13, 12, 9, 3) will benefit from working with various causes and seeing this part of the world for the next 5 - 10 years.  The older ones may leave early and go to university in Europe.

I think $1500 is not enough to sustain a family of 6,and good international schools are expensive in Cambodia. Most expats here working as teachers earn between $1000-$1500 and most are staying alone here,so with a family of 6 you will def need way more thatn $1500 a month.

Thanx
