It has to be what other than Coffee, what else!! Well, I have to have at least 3 mugs in the morning before I can fully operate for the day ahead.

In the Evening and on depending where I am, I do like a glass of wine or if I am in the pub watching some sport it has to be a beer.

coffee. nothing fancy. Just coffee. strong.
depending on the company I am in, of course something to loosen me up in the evening. Mixed drinks are best.

bkk tea blog

Tea!  It's probably healthy, and comes in an interesting range of types with different flavors, and contains caffeine and also theanine, to offset the jolt.

It's taking the interest a bit far since it's only something to drink but I write a blog about the subject:

I do love a good gin and tonic in the evening.
In the hotter regions a good chilled beer goes down a treat too.... :top:

I didn't drink coffee growing up.  I didn't enjoy the taste or smell of the Maxwell House product.  Back then in upstate New York, nobody I knew was talking about lattes and cappuccino.

Now that I'm in world-famous coffee country -- Colombia's Juan Valdez Coffee Zone -- I'm going with the flow.

I've been a regular for a while at Río Casino in department Quindío.  So the casino-bar staff know to bring me an iced cappuccino when I arrive at the blackjack table.

Lately, I ask them not to put sugar or Splenda(tm) in the beverage.  I bring small packets of stevia for the sweetener.  The powder I use and other forms of stevia have been harvested and produced from stevia plants here in South America for at least 1,500 years.

Of course, there's an additional advantage to drinking at the blackjack table:  the beverages are on the house. :D

both of those drinks are unhealthy , grab citrus and do sport

Anything with Alcohol but G&Ts are always welcome. Coffee over tea. Sugared drinks Ok with me but not that often.

A sugar-free, liquor-free cappuccino twice a week is not unhealthy, unless you consider whole milk unhealthy.

Caffeine is not healthy, espresso has loads of it.

These days I am living on coffee. But I really miss a decently done mint julep. I found one when I was vacationing in Serbia, but I have yet to find one in Bulgaria. Luckily, one bar in my town has started doing decent bloody marys.

No mint juleps in Gabrovo, Bulgaria! :o

Try Georgia.  Either Georgia. ;)

Water but, and there's always a big but ...

I keep a couple of bottles in the fridge to make sure the things are cool, but I pop one in the freezer about two hours before a meal so there's little bits of ice floating around in there.

Lovely.

I love the Austrian water and I also put a bottle in the fridge, even in winter. It really is quite refreshing with a meal. We also make our own cordial with Elderflower from the garden.

Kind of drifting off subject a little, but I researched what the long term effects are of caffeine use, and limits related to negative health effects, and about withdrawal.  Per conventional understanding up to 400 mg. per day is no problem for most people, with no negative health effects at all (although that kind of thing tends to change, perspective and conventional wisdom).  That means 4 typical cups of coffee or 8 cups of tea per day--just not in the evening--isn't a problem, unless someone has an unusual sensitivity or health concern.

Oddly half that dosage can be addictive, or potentially even less.  People can experience withdrawal headache and other symptoms even if they typically only drink one cup of coffee a day.  Some of the studies about the benefits of caffeine may really be citing the benefits of someone addicted to caffeine continuing their normal habit after suspending it for a study period.

Water - bah, fish and babies do "things" in that stuff.  Plus, I used to work at a site in a water treatment works in the UK, I know what they find in that stuff. :)

For me:

Morning - Tea
During the day and evening - coffee (proper stuff, not instant)
Late evening - a brandy, just brandy, no "additives"

Also worth mentioning -- the condition and contaminants in old pipes and water holding tanks.

Am I right, Cynic?

Except in my case, boiled and/or filtered.

We had a site in Newcastle; in the adjacent business unit was a bottled water company - you know the stuff, healthy spring water etc etc.  Nothing untoward until our water supply had a problem, the water repair man came along and dug up our pipes to sort the issue, then it was noticed that next doors "spring water" supply was running from the same connection as ours (which was corporation pop); they obviously had some magic wand. :)
