Does anyone have any special needs children (ADHD, Autism, etc.)? I'm looking for info/help/advice on schools, programs, therapy, etc. We have a 12yo and looking into moving to Brussels.

What language does your child speak and what type of schooling is your child doing now?

My son speak English. We are in the US. He has been in special ed, a contained classroom for emotional issues. He is smart and did mainstream level education, it's the other factors of school that present a challenge. He is currently in an intensive residential program for a few months. He has been studying French for a few years, but just has a basic knowledge (but has an excellent pronunciation).

I'd suggest ISB but there is a waiting list for their special needs unit, it costs about 45k per year.

In French, you'd have to go through many tests to ascertain which special school your child could go to.

Thanks! I wish that were an option, but with those prices :(

Hello,

I would highly recommend you to get in contact with "ADHD - ASC - Dyslexia Family Resources Belgium". Their web site is : http://www.adhd-edu.be . They really help a lot...

And you can have a look at "Ace of Brussels" for the school. It's a small and much cheaper private school and they offer to provide special care for children having difficulties. Their web site is : https://www.aceofbrussels.com/

I hope you will have a safe land to Brussels. :)
