Guangzhou vs Chengdu Job offers.

Post new topic

Hi everyone.

I have been offered two ESL contracts: One in Chengdu and the other in Guangzhou, and would value some opinions on life in these two cities.

The school and accommodation for both positions would be in good locations (Yulin area in Chengdu and Haizhu area in Guangzhou) Both jobs are in public schools offering good salaries and similar hours. Although the salary offered in Guangzhou is 60% higher than in Chengdu. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Background info: I am a fairly experienced teacher and have taught overseas for 3 years. I do not speak any Mandarin or Cantonese.
