A picture paints a thousand words, so have several million.

Jakarta is dirty, noisy and messy but there's so much more to it than we first see.
People tend to love or hate the place, commonly both at the same time.

Hello  fred i am currently watching your photos , every country has its own good and bad points, personally talking with my boyfriend i have found many things in common between my city and jakarta.
I live in Palermo  the capital of sicily ( you know famous for the godfather and very lively and noisy city ) lol.
My city was ruled by arabians for 1000 years is very multiracial and multireligious city in which you can find many muslims too , many markets are similars to the ones in jakarta, About the street food ( i have read a topic about the steet food in there ) really similar to the ones in jakarta . And about the traffic  city is pretty chaotic too.
Things in common about the traffic:
-people stop over the stop lines.
-They tends to pass with red
-the buss go really slow and people pass them from the right side ( which is prohibited in here )
- people shout and yell using clacson even if they  hate the sound of it ahaha
My boyfriend was pretty shocked about the similarities ahaha.
So about that i don't find particular differences to be honest . To be honest i don't think my cultural shock will be so huge, or at least i hope.

Thank you for your kindness and for the photo and the knowledge you have shared with me 😄

Fred

Always happy to help.
My hobby is wandering the streets with a camera so I tend to get to know how the place ticks. Some of the places I wander are potentially dangerous but Jakarta is generally a safe city.
