Post new topic

I have an offer of 28000 MYR per month. My wife is not working. My son is 3 years old and will be going to nursery/kindergarten. Can someone advise if it is enough for a family of 3 in KL considering the expenses below?
1. School fees for my son
2. Single income as wife is a home maker
3. Rent a 3/4 BR Condominium Accommodation (somewhere in Bangsar or Brickfields)
4. Food (eat out 2 times a week)
5. Entertainment
6. Groceries
7. Clothing
8. Car EMI (Honda civic or city)
9. Domestic help (live in)
10. Tax and other government payouts

Kindergarten can cost as little as RM500 per month, but probably better to spend RM700 - 1000 to get something better than daycare. Expensive ones cost about RM6000 per term.

3 bedroom condo will cost about RM4000 upwards in Bangsar.

Live in maid will cost whatever you can bargain out of them. If they are Filipino they may start with a ridiculously high amount and you may need to bargain it down a lot. Recommendations from other people is better.

There are lots of websites showing car prices, both new and secondhand. For new, you can bargain the price down and try to get a few extras thrown in.

RM28000 is more than enough even for your children to go international school.
Tax is progressive tax whereby max at 24.5% if not mistaken.
