Import tax for you vehicle

We were on the Island a few weeks ago and went to the Department of De Hacienda to verify the import tax on our vehicles and the on line calculator is correct. We were hoping it was not and out dated but it's correct. The tax is high. It does not make sense for us to purchase new vehicles because ours is newer. So we are paying the tax.
