Just to add to that. Usually you must put down a damage deposit of a half (to full) month's rent and occasionally, the final month's rent as well. An apartment for $700 month is going to be challenging  (especially downtown where the address is that you've indicated) even for a studio and many landlords would prefer to have a single tenant in  studio, but that is just a generallization. You might want to consider apartments near one of the Skytrain stations (up South Cambie/Granville etc or out towards the Commercial Drive area. There might be some opportunities in the Coal Harbour area of the city - between Stanley Park and the business core - as there are many empty suites there and the city is planning on charging extra taxes to people with empty apartments to help with the tight housing market.)
