Moving to Mauritius

My wife and I are considering moving to Mauritius from South Africa. We have 4 kids with only 2 still in school. Kids will stay in boarding school in South Africa.
I work in Saudi Arabia and my wife has her own business that can be run online.

I would like to know the following please:

Will we be able to get permission to live in Mauritius even though we are not employed in Mauritius?
What is the current interest rates for property bonds and vehicle finance?
Will my income from Saudi Arabia be taxed in Mauritius?
Is it worth it to bring our furniture from South Africa or will freight and taxes make it more expensive than buying new items in Mauritius.
Anything we need to know before we make a final decision? We plan to visit for 2 weeks before we make a final decision.

If you fit into any of the Occupation Permit categories (or work / residence permit), then you can have your residency even if you don't work on the island. For instance, if your wife's activity generates the required income and that she can make the minimum investment of USD35,000 - then she can get a permit (you get a dependent permit based on hers)

Hey!

My wife and I are are also considering the move.

I would love to hear from you, regarding your decisions especially around areas where you decide to live.

We are Saffa's too and want to spend 2-3 months a year there :)
