Hi everyone!
How did any of the expats from the UK or other countries without the european 2 pin plug cope with bringing electrical items from England to Austria? Yes, the UK do sell converters, but they are ugly and bulky- do Austrian stores have replacement screw on plugs for these items?

Herzlichen Dank Sidlam! As we wish to permanently live in Austria, the only other solution I can think of is with dearer electricals to take them to an expert household goods electrician, who could convert the wirirng to a two pin with or without earth depending upon wattage involved? Other cheaper electricals we are going to have to abandon in the UK and buy new in Austria- are there any discount electrical chains in Austria where you might get a good deal?
