Does anyone need anything in Benghazi?

Post new topic

GISgirl

There is a people's organization that has been formed in Benghazi to help those foreigners still in place with just about anything from meals to medicine. If you need anything don't hesitate to let me know and I will put you in touch.

Gernademan

Ahh..are you still in Benghazi? How's the situation in Benghazi is life back to normal or still chaos?

GISgirl

No, I'm in the states but still have many contacts there.  Life is stable but they are expecting retaliation... so who knows if all will be ok tomorrow.

Anyone please?

Need to know how safe is it going to the airport? Triploi, I believe they are looting and shooting people on the way?

Please correct me? I need some feedback please as to how safe it is?
How early do you need to reach the airport to catch a certain flight?
What is the state of affairs in that area?

Thank You

Gernademan

No, it's actually quite safe but I've heard from friends who've been there that they (Airport Security) will stop your car 1.5km from the parking lot area at the airport that means you'll have to walk your a** with luggage. Other than that they might ask wat checkpoints about where you're going and why you're going there but all in all it's very safe in Tripoli.

Brilliant Gernademan!!
Your response much appreciated!
Thank You
.
At the same time I would also appreciate if someone throws light on this factor that how long does it take aaprox, to make a way through the crowd to reach boarding exit?
Does one have to go one day ahead?
Please?

I don't know the situation right now but when we left  the country 8 days ago, we reached very safely to airport at about 8.30 am and our plane was suppose to leave at 3 pm but it left at 10.30pm at night and we had to stand out side the airport for more than 11 hours in rain with little kids and only hand carries..but i still miss our lives in libya hope everything settles smoothly and we all can resume our lives there.
