Yea Sure,

Those people will surely stay whose ambassadors are assholes and they are doing nothing.

Gernademan

Why woould you wait for your Embassy staff to do things for you, book a ticket with Afriqiya and leave!

saifizlhr

Thanks but it is totally risk to travel from Brega to Tripoli for Afriqa flight.

Yup there r some of us who feel it is just a passing storm and do not wish to be part of this melee'; perhaps paronia has as yet not set in!
My family is here too and there ain't any big deal about it!Yes ,people are scared and the Libyans are fighting on for a cause but I still maintain that they haven't yet touched any of us nor have warned us or asked us to vamoose ! So why in the name of God are people not standing by these folks!
Frankly speaking the so called food & water shortages have as  yet not commenced but most of us have stockpiled for fear of the worst and that has led to lots of useless stuffings.
The border's of Tunisia,Egypt,Ferries, airport are all but choc-a-bloc with thronging humanity.Already stretched public amenities are but the worst hit.
Most of the expats, their companies and countries are in a mad rush to prove that there evacuation modus -operandii's have perhaps been the best with so called innovative escapes being effected as a topping in this highly chaotic churn up!!
Have a heart please ; what guranttees the fact the one cannot drown in the ferryways or enroute aboard hastily planned & prepared aircrafts or by any such one thousand ways?
Libyan's are incredulous and looking askance at the escaping world in general!!The job market has kind'a dried up for them and just when the country was turning the corner towards prosperity and better future this sudden swoosh has battered their sails!
It saddens me no end for these are very simple folks who only are
fighting for their own cause ; never hurting any of us,foreigner's or are they??Hence should this be the way we repay the country where we all had come to earn by making good our escape's whence the deck is afire!
Pray take a breather and just stop for a moment to rethink : our answers lie within!
Amen:|:|

Are you still in Libya or left already?

mintoo

Very much here and for keeps!
Let's hope my son's school re-opens that perhaps
is the only cause of worry.:)

We came to France on days off just days before Day of Rage, Tripoli. We are still here. Does anyone know if homes in Regatta are secure?

mintoo

Well we can check up tomarrow for you but life most definitly is limping back to normal in this current stand off of.. east vs west [witin Libya not otherwise].As such Regatta had a fool proof security to boast off. Most of time when we go visiting our / son's freinds the comprehensive check really leave us frustrated & contemplative of the fact -- why ain't we ensconed that side of the fence.No?:/:rolleyes:

I am working in Regatta, all houses safe and sound

Thanks mintoo & OB for your responses. Your info is the best I could have expected. I know I'm lucky to have left before the airport congestion, but I'm grieving for my home & my life in Tripoli, especially spring sunshine. I hope we go back, but it's up to the company.
