Health Insurance vs. Tourist Insurance

Jgolak

From what I've read it looks like even though we have healthcare coverage in the US we should still look at getting a plan in the DR. We'll be there a minimum of two months with the hope of making it our home.

Is anyone out there also familiar with Tourist/Travel insurance in case we need need to be flown to the US for more extensive treatment?

Coming to PC in August so we need make sure we're getting what we need and not "over buying" for duplicate coverages. Don't want to be stuck in a local hospital/clinic and have someone demand thousands of dollars before treatment.

Thanks!!!!!!

Once you move you will want local medical insurance. Get it before you turn 65 if possible!!!
